A study association cannot be kept running without its committees. But what are committees? Committees are groups of people that volunteer to do a certain task within the association. They organise the activities (whether educational or recreactional) for all the members of the association.
Take for example the activity committee of LIFE – the Baccoli (bruisende activiteiten commissie LIFE meaning the dazzling activities committee LIFE). They organise the traditional Valentine’s Day party, the end of year BBQ as well as other creative activities. The faculties in Leiden and Delft both have a bar and so there is also a bar committee, the Alcoli. They organise their own get togethers every 2 weeks and also help behind the bar during other activities.
There are also education and facility evaluation committees (Coli’s) that help improve LST. LIFE also organised various study trips with the ‘Lowland trip’ committee, the Europe study trip committee and the master study trip committee.
At the beginning of each academic year, enthusiastic LIFE members sign up for various committees. Each year a get together is organised for those people interested in doing committees, here you can learn more about each committee and talk to former committee members. You can sign up by filling out a form and handing it in to the board, the deadline will be announced on the site.
