The central topic of Life Science & Technology is the cell. The courses focus on processes of the living cell and the search for new ways to study and influence the cell. This includes, for example, genetic manipulation of bacteria in order to produce human proteins or a yeast strain in order to allow for better alcohol production.
LIFE is the study association of LST; this means that we are run by LST students for LST students and that we organised both fun as well as educational activities for our members. We offer course books at a discount, we have committees to evaluate the education and facilities but we also organise parties, excursions and other get-togethers.
If you have decided to follow the Bachelor course of LST next academic year, then we would highly recommend coming to our introduction weekend. If you are a new Master student enrolled in Delft, we suggest getting in touch with the International Office. The Technical University of Delft has a special introduction week for International students. One day of this week is devoted to the faculty and LST, as well as the study association.
