LST Alumni
Alumni are former members of Study Association LIFE who have completed the Bachelor and/or Master LST. Alumni constitute a highly interesting and valuable group for S.A. LIFE, as they form a valuable network of LST professionals. Additionally, S.A. LIFE offers compelling opportunities for alumni, including network expansion and coaching of other alumni regarding career opportunities. In addition to coaching fellow alumni, master's students can also seek advice from alumni, thus enabling them to serve as sources of inspiration for potential career paths.
By maintaining good contact with our network of alumni, S.A. LIFE establishes company contacts for potential collaborations, such as career-related events. Contact with alumni is upheld by the Commissioner of Master Education, in conjunction with a specially formed committee for and by LST alumni: the LIFE Goes On (LGO) committee.
The LGO committee organizes various events throughout the academic year. Additionally, a LinkedIn alumni network has been established to facilitate communication among alumni and with the LGO committee. Through this LinkedIn network, S.A. LIFE keeps its alumni informed about engaging events and job opportunities tailored for alumni.
For questions regarding alumni policy or alumni events, please reach out to either our Commissioner of Master Education or the LGO committee.
Events for Alumni
The LGO committee organizes various events for LST alumni throughout the academic year. Examples of these events include:
Alumni Career Event
During the Alumni Career Event in December, various LST alumni present pitches about their diverse career paths. Following the event, there's an opportunity to socialize and network with fellow alumni and master's students. This event is open to both LST alumni and master's students from Leiden and Delft. Are you interested in sharing your career journey through a pitch at this event? Please reach out to the LGO committee.
Alumni Network Event
The Alumni Network Event typically occurs around May/June. This event offers the opportunity to network with fellow alumni and master's students from both Leiden and Delft. Usually, this event is held in collaboration with a company. The partnering LST-related company will elucidate their mission and the relevance of LST in their sector.
LGO Connectwork
Every second Tuesday of the month at 20:30, two alumni will give a short online presentation about their current profession and its impact, their career path, or something entirely different but still LST related. After these talks there is time for questions and discussion with the alumni present. The event always concludes with one on one speednetworking rounds, allowing alumni to catch up or actually connect with alumni they had not met previously.
Lustrum Event (Reunion)
Every five years, S.A. LIFE celebrates a lustrum year. During a lustrum year, S.A. LIFE organizes a reunion, providing the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old college friends and teachers and reminisce about shared experiences. In 2020, S.A. LIFE celebrated its fourth lustrum, but unfortunately, this event had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The upcoming lustrum event will take place in 2024 in Bar 't Lab. Information about this event will follow soon!
For further details regarding the date, location, and other pertinent information, please stay updated by monitoring our LinkedIn page. Additionally, an alumni email is dispatched annually to all LST alumni, containing comprehensive information about upcoming events tailored for alumni.
Become a benefactor
Without its members, there would be no association. In recent years, numerous LIFE members have graduated and transitioned into alumni. By collaborating with alumni and other LIFE enthusiasts, the association's activities can be expanded and enhanced. These individuals are referred to as benefactors of LIFE. There is always a need for assistance in organizing activities, which is why LIFE continues to seek individuals willing to contribute to this journey.
There are several categories to become a benefactor:
