On the 9th September 2024 LIFE turned 25 years old! This year LIFE turns purple with the theme of the 5th Lustrum ‘OMnipotent’. You might wonder where this name came from, therefore the LuCo will explain it to you!
The 25th element in the Periodic Table of elements is Manganese, which is abbreviated to Mn. Moreover, in the 5 years of LST, the students will grow from freshly new students, to completely specialised alumni. They can choose whichever path they would like to follow. This means that after these 5 years, they will be completely 'differentiated'! And which cell is also able to differentiate to a specific funtion? Exactly, an omnipotent cell! Therefore, the theme 'OMnipotent', stands for the growth the LST-students make during the study, while at the same time it symbolizes the 25th birthday of S.A. LIFE.
The lustrum activities are organised by the LuCo (lustrum committee): Tijn, Kiki, Fea, Kim, Sanne, Gijs, Lukas & Imke.
We have only just begun this academic year, but the first Lustrum activity has already taken place. This was on the 9th of September, the birthday of LIFE. The LuCo organised the opening drinks at De Koperen Kat, during which the chairwoman of the association, the programme director and the chairman of the LuCo gave speeches. Earlier during the day the association and programme handed out cakes, creating a festive day with a lot of involvement of all students!
As the festivities only just started there are plenty more activities that the LuCo will organize! In the coming year there will be an opening party, a cantus, a lustrum gala, a master excursion, a lustrum trip, lustrum lectures, a closing party and of course the alumni reunion!
